e-Visa Categories and Entry Guidelines
The Indian e-Visa is available under five sub-categories: e-Tourist Visa, e-Business Visa, e-Medical Visa, e-Medical Attendant Visa, and e-Conference Visa. Foreign nationals (except those applying for an e-Conference Visa) are allowed to combine activities permitted under multiple visa categories. Applicants for the e-Conference Visa, however, may only combine it with activities permitted under the e-Tourist Visa.
For every e-Medical Visa issued, a maximum of two e-Medical Attendant Visas can be granted.
The e-Visa is valid for entry through 28 designated airports, including Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Port Blair, Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi, and Visakhapatnam.
Additionally, travelers can enter through 5 designated seaports: Cochin, Goa, Mangalore, Mumbai, and Chennai. Exit, however, is permitted from any authorized Immigration Check Post (ICP) across India.
Group e-Visa for India
The Group e-Visa is designed for travelers visiting India as part of a group consisting of 5 to 50 individuals. This visa allows group members to enter and exit the country together, making it ideal for tour groups or collective travel experiences. The Group e-Visa remains valid for 365 days from the date of the group's first entry into India. Importantly, the group must be formed before the visa is applied for. Additionally, each traveler within the group must possess a valid individual passport to be eligible for the visa.
e-Business Visa for India
The Indian e-Business Visa is one of the categories under the Indian e-Visa scheme, launched by the Government of India to facilitate business-related travel. This visa is valid for a duration of one year (365 days) from the date the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is issued and allows for multiple entries into the country.For each individual visit, the maximum continuous stay permitted is 180 days. If the traveler intends to stay beyond 180 days, they must register with the concerned FRRO/FRO office within two weeks of exceeding the 180-day limi.
e-Medical Visa for India
The e-Medical Visa is a category of Indian e-Visa issued online by the Government of India. It is intended for foreign nationals seeking short-term medical treatment in India. This visa is specifically designed to facilitate non-Indian visitors traveling for medical purposes and does not cover long-term or ongoing treatments.
